One of the authors I like is having his books redone in a "movie in your mind" style with sound effects and several voice actors. It's really cool and I wish there were more books done in that style! Unfortunately the narratora apparently never listened to the originals (which we've had for over a decade now) and it's just not at a faithful to the author's original vision (i.e. even in just the sample, the narrator mispronounced the name of the planet the main cast lives on, which comes up a lot).

What are some of the long-term effects of chronic gaslighting and is there anything that can be done to help them? I suspect that my mother is quite narcissistic and part of that was her constant gaslighting. I've learned to recognize it and ignore it for the most part, but I definitely don't trust most of my early memories and I don't remember the bulk of my childhood aside from a few flashbulb memories.

My university offers free counseling sessions and I figure I might as well take advantage of them before I graduate, but I think it'd be much more beneficial if I could go in with a more concrete idea of how to verbalize the effect gaslighting has had on me and perhaps a few tools to help improve on those issues.

My location started this today. Scared the hell out of me when I saw the line wrapping around the building (I was trying to get in an out in an hour or so) but it moved super quickly and inside was less crowded than it is most weekends. They let one person in for every person who left.

Toilet paper was being distributed (one per household) by employees and milk and eggs were limited to one per household as well.

It really is amazing how well-organized and efficient everything was. I wish I could have seen it BEFORE they figured out a system...would have been a wonderful mess to witness.
