Delta granule storage deficiency is lack of the stuff platelets release in order to initiate clotting. I believe what granules there are release OK, just too few of them.
The defect seen when mitochondria are poisoned (in a test tube) is lack of ability to release those granules.
So, I think the two are definitely related.
How low is your platelet count? (If you prefer to PM, OK too...)

Thank you for doing this AMA.
Have you had any problems with excessive bleeding?
One of my colleagues found that poisoning mitochondria impairs platelets function - I am curious whether there is a tendency to bleed when you have partial function.
