we need to use them for stuff (like food...
Except we don't need them for food. This thinking is just carnism at play. :)

Carnism is the "ideology, that conditions people to eat certain animals. Carnism is essentially the opposite of veganism; “carn” means “flesh” or “of the flesh” and “ism” denotes a belief system. Most people view eating animals as a given, rather than a choice; in meat-eating cultures around the world people typically don’t think about why they find the flesh of some animals disgusting and the flesh of other animals appetizing, or why they eat any animals at all. But when eating animals is not a necessity for survival, as is the case in much of the world today, it is a choice - and choices always stem from beliefs."
It's an actual word :)

thanks mightymighty. I did mean it in a friendly way. The vast majority of people don't need them for food. They just choose it as an option. And carnism is an actual word - the " ideology, that conditions people to eat certain animals. I had a smiley face in there so I'm not sure why anyone would think I'm judging. Here's another smiley to emphasize that :)

What would you recommend we do over in North America to help encourage this ban here?
