I just don't get the cost difference. Look at asthma inhalers, (I'm not sure on the drug so I'll use that brand Ventolin name as an example), its available in pretty much every country in the world, under multiple brand names and generally is in the ~$10 a pop range. Yet in the US $50-$60. The answer I'm always given here is that in other countries your taxes are reducing the cost before market, but how can it be such a consistent price everywhere else? Is it artificially marked up here?

Edit and another drug, Seratide (not sure on US Name), $20 or so elsewhere. Here I was literally quoted $600.

A few months ago, I saw that people thought the links to birth defects were from the chemicals used in the water, not from the Zika virus itself. Are these claims true? Is there a link to the chemical causing it, and is there a link (apart from statistics) between Zika and birth defects?

Awesome, I think this is the one I was reading - http://www.reduas.com.ar/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2016/02/Informe-Zika-de-Reduas_TRAD.pdf

They had attributed it I think because the microcephaly was appearing mainly in regions that were sprayed.

Process wise, how is something like this ruled out? Would a company then test the larvicide in animals or similar, or can the theory be debunked by theory alone?

Edit: I don't believe it either way, I just remember this and I was wondering how something like is disproven.
