How often do you come across homeless people that are coping with mental health issues?

My father works in mental health and a large proportion of the people he sees are or were at one point homeless. I recall him saying that a majority of the homeless (at least in our area) are in the situation they're in because they are mentally ill. Do you feel that is the case with any of the people you interact with on a daily basis?
