My ancient hardcover copy of Watership Down is one of fewer than 10 books I kept when I moved to a minimalist lifestyle and got rid of most of my possessions. It's not the only one of yours I read and loved, but it's the only one I couldn't get rid of.
I just wanted you to know that.
You've probably heard a thousand questions about that particular book, so forgive me if you've answered this, but do you have a method for coming up with words like fu-inle' or Thlayli? Lapine terms are really beautiful, and as a writer it would be nice to have some insight into how they were created.
Also, are you aware that a musician named Skrillex named his record label Owsla?

Why the downvoting? I mean, if you oppose what she's saying, present a sensible argument against it. You won't. No one ever has; every argument to the contrary (generally) boils down to justification of unethical behavior.
But if you have something, let's hear it. We could certainly be wrong. Mindlessly downvoting someone without discussion is not a solution.

There's no case for it from an ethical or resource use perspective. People can choose - cheaply and easily! - a lifestyle free of animal abuse.
Obviously this excludes some exceptions. Uh...a good example would be a diabetic whose blood glucose is barely affected by meat, but spiked by most foods. It would be nigh impossible for some people like that to live without animal proteins. I know this from seeing people go through it.
Generally, though, proponents of meat are silent when it comes to defending what they believe. It almost always comes down to "LOL BACON BACON BACON".

One can hike the trail on less than 2,000, but that means a lot of careful budgeting and probably carrying more weight (since you're going to buy a lot of what's cheap) and eating less interesting food. I spent about 6,000 on my hike from Maine to Georgia.
