What are your thoughts on the current state of the Republican party? | The most important thing is that we need to be a party that is inclusive and tolerant. We can be those things and be the party we always have been. We need to think about the environment - Teddy Roosevelt was a great environmentalist and people forget Reagan was the one who dealt with the ozone layer with the Montreal protocol. We also need to talk about healthcare honestly - Nixon almost passed universal healthcare. We need to have an talk about immigration and realize you can't just deport people. We need a comprehensive answer. We also need to stay out of people's bedrooms. The party that is for small government shouldn't be over-reaching into people's private lives. |
Mainly, we need to be a party where people know what we are for, not just what we are against.
Would you rather fight 100 duck sized Predators or 1 Predator sized duck? | I would choose the 1 Predator sized duck instead of dealing with 100 duck-sized Predators. I've already fought a Predator-sized Predator so I am confident I could handle the duck. |
In your films are all the "Ayyaagh's" in the script or do you improvise them? | All improvised. Every single one. |
How often do you still speak german? After all the years in the USA, do you feel more comfortable to speak english? | Not much, I am definitely more comfortable in English. Which should tell you how bad my German has gotten. |
My daughter Chloe who is 9 is a big fan of yours. She would like to ask which role is more fun to prepare for action or comedic roles? | Link to imgur.com |
If you had to pick your favorite line from any movie, what would it be? | From someone else's movie: "Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?" |
From my movies... I'll be back.
EDIT: And from The Last Stand: Link to imgur.com

I understand the need for seclusion but why the nudity? | It felt right. Not too much issues with mosquitos, never have. Little vampire bastards don't seem to enjoy my succulent blood. |
Didn't mosquitoes attack you? What about sunburn? | Sunburn is a topic I do not want to talk about. Ever had sunburn on your testicles? No? You should consider yourself lucky. Then again you will never have the pleasure of tearing a ballsack sized piece of dead skin of your gonads. |
Yogi bear is smarter than the average bear. Yogi bear is frequently put in jail by a park ranger for stealing picnic baskets. That's pretty dumb. So the average bear must be vaguely retarded. How did you trick a retard? | I was fishing in the river, and after a while I realize I'm not alone. I pick up my fishing kit and the two fish that I caught and hurried back to the cabin. BAD MOVE. Yogi decides to stalk me and I realize I'm pretty much fucked. I'm naked, with 2 fish and a fishing rod. I was never going to survive. Also you must know I had no satphone with me and the only way back I knew was a two day hike. I threw the fish at the bear and he left me alone. I did not fish in the same area again. |
I'm naked, with 2 fish and a fishing rod. Isn't that how all dudes are when they're naked though? | Fact. |
What did you do to pass the time? Did you do a lot of hiking outside? If so, what did you do to protect your twig and berries from other twigs and berries? | I got food from hunting and fishing. Mostly fats and proteins during my time in the mountains. I walked a lot, but never further than 5 miles from the cabin. |
Did you wear anything on your feet? | Nope. |
Says CaptainJizzBeard. | Nothing gay about getting your own jizz in your magnificent big beard. |

What can you tell a young man looking for motivation in life itself? | The problem, often not discovered until late in life, is that when you look for things like love, meaning, motivation, it implies they are sitting behind a tree or under a rock. The most successful people recognize, that in life they create their own love, they manufacture their own meaning, they generate their own motivation. For me, I am driven by two main philosophies, know more today about the world than I knew yesterday. And along the way, lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you. |
What grinds your gears? | Watching and listening to people in power who believe they know what they are talking about but do not. |
If you could live in any sci-fi universe, which would you pick and why? | StarTrek. For the warp drives. And the story lines were often deep, and rich in social consciosness and accountability. I was also impressed that Captain Kirk could have sex with aliens. |
What policy changes would you like to see the Obama administration make right now to help promote science learning in American schools? | If you want to build a ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea..." - Antoine de Saint Exupery. |
Who do you look up to most? | My parents. Married 60 years. Rational. Curious. Considerate. Sensible. Moral. |
Now, the question: If the President offered you a position like being the Secretary of Sciences, would you take it? Why/why not? | No such post. Of all the cabinet slots in the US Government, science is not represented. It is, however, in other developed countries. The US has a President's "Science Advisor", though. I am an educator, not a politician. So I think I am at my best when I compel people to demand science literacy from their elected officials. That would make a much stronger country than me holding one post or another. |
