Qubo hermano. What part of Bogota are you around mostly? I always keep an eye out for you in the center and Chapinero. I have been following your story on Colin's website for a while now. I was curious if you've met any of the Farc low level militia commanders around the city. It seems every couple of weeks there is an explosion in the center, Kenedy or on 26th avenue or some shit. Do you have any idea why that's happening?

Bom dia meu irmão! I have a few questions. I have spent several months in the Colombian Amazon, near Leticia and also in the Brazilian Amazon near Manaus. What an increadibly energy and vibrance one feels being in the jungle. It is such an amazing place that is sadly being lost to modernization and man-made destruction.

1) Do you see and feel the effects of modernization such as ecological destruction, deforistation and/or in changing of indigenous cultures because of outside influence?

2) The drink made from the vine of Yahé or Ayahuasca used in the religious ceremonies is very interesting to me. I have heard stories of people taking the drink and being able to comunicate with the spirits of jaguares, guacamayas, and other animals. Have you experienced this? WHat was it like? What do you feel about the relation of humans and other animals?

3) Have you been to the Aldea Maracaná in Rio? I have heard that it is a tansit point and offers indigenous youth and others a place to stay in the city if they are looking to study or take care of a beacratic process in the city. Has it changed since the attemps by Rio police to tear it down in preperation for the World Cup?

How is the way people are asking about it incorrect? For the most part I don´t see anyone disrespecting shamanic traditions or making the assumption that he or anyone that any indigenous person is a "druggy".
