How accurate are the numbers we're seeing out of china in terms of infection?

Many Australian researchers and "academics" are leaving the country in order to find work that is more secure and better funded. Do you think this is a concern and how is it best handled?

Hey Richard. I'm a researcher at a university. Something I have to deal with is severe insecurity in my job and lack of long term employment as contracts are all depending on funding and typically last at most 3 - 3.5 years but more likely around the 2 year mark.

This means it is difficult for me to "put down roots" for myself and my family as I'm not sure where the 'next job' will be or even if it will exist at all. How should government tackle this problem facing researchers (especially young researchers)?
