Circumcision and female genital mutilation are not the same. I do not agree with circumcision as I don't think anyone's body should be cut up if it's not for medical reasons. However, the equivalent of performing FGM on a man would involve cutting off his entire penis.

The degree of harm is completely relevant and the fact you think it isn't shows that you do not understand the female sex organ or the vulva. Circumcision involves slicing off a piece of skin from the penis, usually from a baby. When it's being performed on an adult pain management is used. FGM happens to girls before or as they're hitting puberty with no pain management or, often, sterilisation of instruments used. They're not the same.

EDIT: This is not even mentioning the effects after FGM as well. Urinary tract infections, difficulties giving birth including skin and tissue tearing, skin and tissue tear from penetrative sex
