How is the working culture at MIT? As in, are researched and phd students working over 60 hours weeks or is this just rumor.

Can I ask you about the culture in general at MIT? I don't know how many other students and groups you are in touch with, but is the culture in general one of "countless in hours in the lab"?

Also, it's awesome that you enjoy your research so much! I've seen too many people who just lack the passion (or maybe its craziness) to devote their life to just a few specialized projects and then everything goes wrong for them.

Don't pay attention to Vox. Those guys will spin data any which way they possibly can. Not a good influence at all

Once I get around to applying, I'll have to get in touch with some of the students in the specific labs I guess. See I believe I have the drive necessary it's just I don't want my entire life to be research. I need an outlet and I enjoy other things as well. But research is probably the top thing on my list.
