Actually I think the Greens policies are greatly economically superior, certainly to the Coalition's, and mostly to Labor's.

The Coalition have roughly the same sort of economic policies as the U.S. Republicans: cut taxes on the wealthy, lower taxes from resource extraction, etc. These policies are effective class warfare, but not good long-term policies. They lead to wealth inequality and big deficits.

The Greens propose to raise taxes on high income earners, and improve the social safety net.

A strong economy requires people to have both the incentive and the opportunity to produce high-value work. A country with strong economic mobility is able to take full advantage of its human capital.

The real "land of opportunity" in the world is not the US --- it's Denmark. That's the country where your final wealth is least dictated by who your parents were. We're currently much much better off in that regard than the US.

The Coalition and Labor are moving us to the right, towards what the US is doing. Those policies aren't only unjust, they're inefficient. They're for the short-term benefit of the rich.
