How do you balance being investigative / adversarial in your every day work without being overwhelmed with despair when you think about the world / politics / international affairs?

I subscribe to the view that there is no such thing as an apolitical act. I take your point about being anti-partisan, and see the Intercept's critical reporting as an important part of holding actors to account. But it's still political. You are actors in the system and make calls about what to cover, and hence on what change you hope to achieve through your actions. Do you have a different take?
