What made you want to open a hostel?

The Purple Fiddle in Thomas, WV is a solid spot with regular touring acts. There is also 123 Pleasant St. In Morgantown and a couple in Charleston.

Is there something special your hostel provides, a niche of some sort, or is its renown from just being good?

Hi Michael, I'm a musician with a nature and sustainability focused creative practice (all my recordings are solar powered and created using nature as a studio) I have a desire to raise awareness of environmental and sustainability issues directly through my actions or by contributing my work to things like videos. My experience with reaching out to larger organizations like Surfrider and Waterkeepers has largely been unsuccessful. If I get a response at all I'm passed around until I'm forgotten about. How would you recommend an artist without celebrity status approach an organization to ensure success? Does the Sierra Club have an interest in using art and creativity in its' campaigns?
