You can make your own router using an old pc with two network connections and install pfsense. You dont need anything fancy, maybe decent network cards but other than that, you should be good.

I dont think many people realize that routers are literally computers. If someone is diving into pfSense then this is right around the corner.

It is a great project to get into if you have a homelab or serious about security.

To be fair phones are more PC like than routers. One could possibly make a portable router with a small touch screen. Not sure if there would be a market for that though lol.

The power draw would be a lot more compared to a router for sure but then you are getting a really powerful router in exchange. One can possibly use a NUC or small factor PCs or even older dual core PCs to reduce power consumption.

Do you feel that employers do enough to protect their employees?

Are there sufficient protections for workers in this day and age? Are they on the same level playing field as cooperations?
