I’ll be very direct. As an atheist ALL of the monotheistic religions are anathema to me. But as unaccepting, racist, and horrible as American Christians can be if you are a gay or trans person the most dangerous places in the world to be are Muslim controlled nations. In Saudi Arabia and Iran gays are regularly thrown off the roofs of buildings as punishment for having consensual sex with the people they’re attracted to.
