My first job was at Kenny Rogers Roasters. Someone told me that we could eat any food that was fucked up. I fucked up every food after that, until I got reprimanded by management. I was so fat, and so bad at being an employee.

I left 15+ years of IT work to work outdoors in an oil related industry. Took a slight pay cut, but have never been happier.

I work 4 12 hour shifts a week typically, so I get 3 days off. So I can actually get out of town or do something besides watch TV.

I'm sure I'll go back to it, but I really needed a break. I was fat, depressed, lonely and just generally unhappy. I'm sitting in my truck right now in -2 degree weather, and not wishing I was back under the fluorescent lights at all. Absolutely soul draining.

One of the worst offenders even had a little plaque in his office that said something like "No one on his deathbed ever said 'I wish I'd spent more time at work'" Yet, there he would be at 10 or 11pm.
