Spent a ton of time in Singapore, and while I found it really (like ridiculously) clean and safe, after a while it felt stifling. Too many rules and regulations.
Hong Kong, on the other hand, was the perfect mix for me. I can certainly see myself living there for a time.

I definitely agree on large groups and tour buses. Almost had my passport stolen on the bus from Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Penh. Makes you an easy target travelling in a pack like that.

Have you traveled with other people before? I just got finished with 6 months in SE Asia, and spent most of the time in smallish groups. I traveled on my own quite a bit as well, and they were definitely different experiences, I wouldn't really put one over the other. Thanks for doing the AMA!

Listen to this guys. I'm assuming you don't absolutely need the 600k right now (400k is plenty to play with), and having a more secure long-term return is huge. Having that amount of money coming in every year without working... damn. I would honestly probably put all the money in, and just go travel off the interest.
