When it became a big topic, Canada just threw up a virtual currencies page on the government Canada website saying it's taxable just like any other form of money. It's actually pretty funny, the U.S. probably threw millions of dollars and thousands of man hours into figuring it all out, but we just carried on. Still, there is a lack of public speech on it at this point - nothing to worry about for a charity though. Mostly the money transmitter or borderline transmitters have to keep an eye out - it's usually the banks that don't like it though.

Would you be willing to consider setting up a bitcoin donation fund? I believe the new wealth in the bitcoin economy would be a great contributor and they have already proven to be very generous for charitable purposes.
