I remember that day. I was 5 and thought it was snowing (it was ash) and was mad I couldn't go outside and play in it.
The top of the mountain was visible from my parents house before the eruption (they live about 50 miles south) but not anymore.
It's so strange, we drove up there about 10 years ago and there wasn't much growing 30 years later. Some knee high plants growing sporadically from what looked like gravel.
Had it erupted to the south, how far south do you think it would have destroyed Gifford Pinchot? I've always wondered...

Is there a period of time where it's slow, but you know it's almost time for the (insert drug/situation) rush? Some jobs are steadily busy all day. Some have periods of intense activity followed by a lull. Is it like that for you or do you recognize patterns?
