Could you elaborate a little on what changed in terms of gas mixtures and dive tables?

As a person who works in health care, and an ex-smoker who quit almost 20 years ago- just quit. Once you hear the words "You have cancer" or whatever, you'll give ANYTHING to have never started. Quit now before cancer cells start to grow. Lung cancer isn't even the worst. Death isn't the worst. Imagine having your larynx removed. Your tongue cut out. Please just quit.

That was going to be my question. And even if the new lungs don't last forever (and they do not), it's still longer than two years.
