I "grew up" in very free protocol system..we were the only medics in a six county area, housed in a busy city...whoever was in the airway seat of the squad took every call he could. "Do what you are big enough to do". It was invaluable as a young medic. Spent my first 12 years there and cried the day I left to take a flight gig with the program I'd followed since puberty.
