I'm bummed that I'm late but if by some weird chance my question gets seen and grandma feels like answering some more....

Being born in 1909 is such a long time ago that most of us consider it ancient history. However you have the unique opportunity to have known people who grew up and were adults during the late 1800's. I'm curious if you have any memories of stories passed down to you similar to how you're doing right now? It's one thing to read about how life was in the 1800's but it's another thing entirely to be able to talk to someone with almost direct knowledge.

While understanding that any disorder is not a laughing matter.... What are some of the funnier situations you (or your friend) have you found yourself in because of your situation?

I was headed down this path in my university days but bailed because so many folks kept trying to scare me off that I'd be basically homeless working in this kind of a research field. It worked and I'm miserable in front of a computer all day now :/ Without getting into too many details though could you expand a little more about what kind of lifestyle and earnings would look like doing the kind of work you do or similar circumstances?

Someone else explained pretty well that since cursing is a simple effortless expression, that's why cursing can become a tic. Do you know if anyone has been successful in replacing their cursing with less offensive exclamations? I'm a typical guy but a few years ago I started to become more aware of my casual cursing and decided to make an attempt at replacing my typical curses with more fun ones.

My wife's family is on the religious side and to avoid exclaiming JESUS around them I started making the effort to instead go with CHEESES since it was a similar word. Years later and while I still curse when I want to - most of my reactionary 'cursing' is silly phrases. I definitely feel like I've re-wired myself in this regard and curious if this kind of thing would be possible as a therapy for Tourettes sufferers.
