You mentioned that you learned a lot about data science and programming from MOOCs. Is it possible for a radiologist with no formal training in computer science whatsoever to meaningfully contribute to the imaging informatics field? Especially in a country where this field is almost non-existent at the moment.

And would you recommend radiologist trainees to familiarize themselves with data science for use in clinical practice in the future, or will these new tools be very user friendly and not require in depth knowledge to work with? The roles of radiologists will obviously change, but do you think that will move them more towards patient interaction, or data analysis?

Thanks for the answer. Not very reassuring, but still, next year I'll apply to radiology and see what happens. Can't imagine myself anywhere else :)
