i thought it was genuinely interesting that there's an entire town/region in Colombia where boys are expected to come of age with donkeys, to the point that there's an annual parade of donkeys dressed up in makeup and ladies fashions - and it's totally normal! to know that this kind of thing happens in the contemporary world is pretty eye-opening
