Never expected anyone to complain that there were too many people in Nebraska.

I'm stealing this and telling everyone I thought of it. If you really want good work, you steal Danny Boyle's shit.

PBS doesn't run ads so it's not a problem for her to recommend other sources. Honestly, watch the News Hour. They're the only people on American TV (that I can think of) who let guests talk and explain their positions.

I think that's the opposite of what's happening in Oakland.

I have not researched this myself but here's my understanding of the consequences for Oakland residents who own their house:

  • You cannot evict from a duplex. So, if you're an owner occupied duplex and your tenant is being weird with your daughter, you can't get rid of them. I thinktm this is implemented with a very high penalty for breaking a lease.
  • You cannot move back into your single family house if you rent it. This is implemented via a $10k payment to the tennant if you decide not to remew the lease when it expires. So, if you sign a 1 year lease and you want to move home after 1 year, you must pay the tennent $10k to move.

This is the (mis?)information that homeowners are using to decide if they should build out a duplex or rent their house and move temporarily to care for a sick mother.

Is this information correct? Is it fake news?

Thanks!

P.S. I feel like Nancy Pelosi would tell us we have to wait for the measure to pass to understand it and people would get salty for the honest answer. So, I know you may not be able to answer my question but I would still like any additional information you have.
