What are the dangers in your area of Stolipinovo? How happy are people you meet, in general? How respectful or disrespectful?

Jason, what's your (or the writers') approach to crafting scary scenes? Do you go at it from a theoretical level and try to induce insecurities in the audience that get threatened, or do you just go with random inspiration and things that would scare you if you were in the characters' positions? If you have any cool tricks in inducing fear, would you like to share them? Thanks!

You seem to have a ton of experience in this: when you're in a situation where a bullet could (theoretically) pass through your brain at any moment, or you could otherwise die on the battlefield, are you thinking about that? Are there thoughts of death and blackness or the afterlife running through your mind? Or is that as far from your mind as it is from me right now, with you focused exclusively on what you need to do and the things you need to protect?
