No. Not talking about such things was pretty common, even until relatively recently.

My Dad was repeatedly raped by a neighbour in the late 50's/early 60's (not sure of the exact age, but this was when he was 8-10 years old), and he told his parents at the time, who told him to not speak such foolishness. And so it was never spoken of again, not until my Dad was in his 50's. They let the neighbour still come around even after the accusation. It sort of came out later that all or nearly all his six other brothers were raped by the guy as well. Nothing has ever come of it. Guy's still alive, still living in the same place. Even attended the funerals of my grandparents (the ones who ignored my father).

It hasn't gone on. There hasn't been a new episode filmed for 4-5 years...

I grew up deep in a rural area in Ontario, pretty damn near crime free, and people locked their doors. Regardless, Moore's claims were about Toronto, not small town and rural Canada. You can find individuals in small towns in the US that don't lock their doors either, so that'd be an irrelevant point to make.

No offense taken. I despise them, since all of this was revealed. Though, like I said, they're both dead now. These are all relatively recent revelations.
