I am currently in class with some of my 7th graders who are signed up for your speaking event. They have some questions:

What did you eat in the camps?

How violent were the camps?

What was your first hiding spot after escaping the death marches?

Did you have help?

How were you treated in the camps?

How did you feel?

Were you ever punished for others' doings?

What was your job before becoming a speaker?

My students have more questions:

Did you ever stand up against/rebel against the guards?

Were you ever chased when trying to escape?

In the book "I Have Lived 1,000 Years," the main character was also on a train to Dachau. On that train they let people out into a cornfield and then the prisoners were shot at. Did you experience anything like that?

Did you ever think, "Why me?" when you survived certain events? Did you have survivor's guilt?
