Polling says only 3/5 Americans believe that dropping the atomic bomb was okaylink.

This is roughly in line with the numbers we have on evolution, which remains a highly controversial issuelink.

I, for one, support our actions during the war. But I wanted the input of someone who was there.

Presently, one of the biggest controversies for Americans was the decision to use the atomic bomb. However, our viewpoint is from the perspective of the comfort of the present era, not the perspective of those who were currently engaged in a war.
