Is there something you would like general public to know or acknowledge about astronauts that's usually not talked about much?

What is your view on relation beetwen an astronaut and their spacecraft? Is it necessary for a spacecraft to have astronaut-dependent elements, even if it can do all the job with the autopilot and onboard computers? Is it important for astronauts as people to maintain some sort of control and actually be pilots, not simply passengers, or do you think this will change in the future?
