Kanaka ʻōiwi here. I can deny that her favorite offering is gin - that propagated because of a tourist stop at Kīlauea that had "offering ceremonies", where people could buy trinkets and bottles of gin to "sacrifice" at the volcano, because some Dutch guy said it was her favorite. It's pure exploitative nonsense.

ETA: The tourist stop mentioned was a thing of the 1800s. An odd time for Hawaiʻi.

Drat! Well, during/after the class I got quite interested in the Jogos Nhai and the Golden Empire of Yi-Ti and I'd love to see a representation and expansion of the history there.

Hey /u/dedalvs! I've heard rumors of a GoT spinoff series... Including a potential for the Far East. Is there any chance I could weasel my Jogos Nhaiang Chahar into it?

I feel like there's some pretty substantial misunderstanding of how color works in digital media, and more specifically in programs used to create digital art (like Photoshop).

After you select your color from the regular ROYGBP spectrum, the Adobe color selector works across two axes: saturation and brightness. If I want a light, desaturated blue (basically a light blue-grey), I would open up my color selector and move the selector towards the top left (right is more saturated, down is darker). If I want a deep, dark red I'd move the selector far to the right and down.

As for mixing of colors, that's also pretty inaccurate. If I set the opacity to 50% and paint red over green I would get brown. I'm not painting with light, it's a digital representation of pigment.
