My name is Dick Endcoch.

I’m with my Mormon family right now. Just had a fantastic dinner, we all said we were thankful for each other and we had a prayer. I’m not religious, but it bothers me that a lot of the exmormon community goes so hard on distancing yourself from your friends and family. I mean check out r/exmormon. They talk about active Mormons like they’re scum.

I love my family completely, despite our differences in spirituality; they love me and respect my wishes. Honestly in my 20 years with the church, almost everyone was kind and ultimately good people.

Yes, but my exact experience is needed on Reddit because Reddit has an inherent dislike of Mormons. Not every atheist or catholic person has a great experience growing up either.
