Scott, something important to understand about clearances is that simply having a clearance does not mean you're entitled to classified information. In fact, the biggest part of the clearance equation is need-to-know. So even though there are committees inside congress that have clearances, there are many departments that have to determine what information is actually required to be presented prior to it being released, especially in an investigation that likely includes reports from every single intelligence organization in the government. Even the president can't just demand access to classified information without a specific need-to-know. Despite your obvious bias on the subject of Trump and his corruption I would hope that your statement regarding this process was made out of negligence, which can be forgiven, and that in the future you're more careful regarding making bold statements that could mislead the uninformed observer.

So based on some of your responses I have to ask you how you feel about the current state of media bias and the importance of objective reporting?

We as humans tend to make decisions based on emotional reactions and then we use reason to justify our reaction after the fact. So for instance, a person who doesn't like Barak Obama because of his political party might claim something he said was inaccurate by siting some other source. It does not mean he was inaccurate or had a bad idea, but the person will still seem to present a legitimate reason for claiming inaccuracy.

Your site runs into the same issue as every other public information forum, it depends on the populace to be well informed and unbiased; something that is pretty much impossible in our current social climate. Your idea to combat this is also flawed, because just because a person completes their entire profile and a bunch of other people regularly rate their opinions highly does not mean that person knows what they are talking about.

You are essentially creating and enforcing what Kant referred to as the guardians; people who simply because of their position or popularity could shape information and society even if their information was wrong, or inaccurate.

While consensus and social agreement are important, empirical evidence and hard facts are what that consensus should be based on. With that in mind, how do you think you could improve your site to increase agency of the individual and help people make informed decisions for themselves?
