Giraffes have them too, it's unbelievable how much of a detour that nerve takes through their necks.

Both, although my anxiety did decrease somewhat before my symptoms did as I learned to cope with it. I saw a neurologist when it was at its worst, and they basically told me that they're not sure what is causing it, but it won't kill me or make me go blind or anything so I should just tough it out. So I stopped letting it consume my life and focused on other things. Eventually the symptoms started to diminish slowly and they've been much more manageable since.

You're absolutely right in saying that overcoming the anxiety is nearly as good as having no symptoms. I personally think I would be almost just as happy with my current state of affairs if my symptoms never left, just because of my change in attitude. You can't change some things about yourself, but you can change the way you let them affect you.

oh, I see. Well, I hope it gets better for you like it did for me.

I have VS as well as some other related symptoms (light sensitivity, very persistent afterimages) but they seem to come and go. Right now I barely notice them, but there have been a couple of 2-3 year long periods where they bothered me intensely. Have you been treated for migraines at all?
