I'm from the villages, I understand the same plight you noticed. As a community planner I want to get computer labs with public wifi access into the villages so I can start teaching the communities to take advantage of technology and the internet, you are totally right that there is a lot of potential to be had out there.

Ah I see it gets a lot less expensive outside the interior, my apologies, I am familiar with the villages along the Yukon, always hit up the old Sweetsir store in Galena for instance, but yah we typically fly to one village and use our boat to go up and down river or save money by boating the 2 to 3 day trip from Fairbanks to the villages.
