I feel like there is definitely a difference between Islam in the West and Islam as it is practiced and believed in many Muslim-majority countries, where obviously the vast majority of the world's muslims live. You can extend that to people you know, but do you think it applies to many in very conservative Muslim countries like Pakistan?

The Quran is in general much less story-oriented compared to the Torah or the New Testament.

Bipolar mania lasts for weeks vs. mood swings over the course of hours or days in BPD. BPD starts younger, associated with self-harm, distorted self-image, chronic feelings of emptiness and intermittent SI associated with severe emotional stressors, often trauma history. You wouldn’t expect extreme excess energy in BPD impulsivity more assoc with low mood and usually presents with depression. In my experience BPD is much more common inpatient and is very misdiagnosed as as bipolar due to financial and stigma considerations, but it may be different in non-US countries which have very different rates of diagnosis.
