Wow, scary. Is this deep water capping disruptable? I would guess that surface winds could break it up, given enough strength and time.

Yikes! It sounds like our more compressed spring and fall seasons, even with their more chaotic extreme weather don’t provide enough mixing to re-oxygenate deep water, and even if it did, as deep waters warm, the DO levels will remain too low to support fish through summer and winter.
