How long does it take to clean out your sluice out and get all the gravel/sand/gold into buckets and then set the sluice back up?

I've always wondered why you and the other miners up there don't take a short break and clean out the sluices...(not do a final cleanup, just clean the sluices)

Do you ever check the end of your sluice to see how much gold is down near the end? I'm just assuming that if there's much gold at the end your "blowing" gold out the back end.
