The Jinx blew my mind! I love your stuff Louis but the combination of luck and timing in that doc easily makes it one of the best I've seen in the last 10 years.

The catacombs are very interesting but you must book well in advance of your trip. Some of the smaller art museum's are worth checking out like Musée Marmottan Monet, you bypass the crowds that go to the Louvre and still get to see amazing works by the impressionists. Transit in Paris is very good, the subway is the best way to get around. If you're into food there are many good restaurants worth checking out, try and stay away from the ones near the major tourist destinations though. Terminus Nord is a decent restaurant across from Gare du Nord, the station you arrive at from the airport. It's pretty decent and a fantastic example of a traditional French brasserie.

Do some research in advance, Paris is a pretty big city with lots to see and do.

I watched Bushes speech initiating the invasion of Iraq and we were just blown away. Bin Laden was out there and here he was telling people that Iraq was the problem. Bush had the support of the entire nation and he blew it on some extracurricular expedition in the desert. I can't help but think that had they stuck to Afghanistan the world would be a better place right now.

I'll also never forget when Rumsfeld estimated the war would cost $40 billion. This was going to be a cheep war that would pay for itself with oil revenue!

That is some pro level advice right there! Attending events like DEFCON can really help anyone that is just starting out. IT is such a fragmented field due to our ability to work remotely. Conferences and events are a very important way for us to make connections. Sometimes you need to travel a few thousand KM's to meet the people who work in your backyard lol.
