The part that disgusts me the most about organized religion in general and cults in particular is the idea that you can be permanently cut off from family and friends by rules set out by the leaders who really don't love you and care about you. Are they God? Did they create the Universe? Who the fuck do they think they are? Really man.

The only thing that matters in radio is $$$$$$$. If a radio station knew that they could get very high ratings which equals more money by playing Stairway to Heaven over and over and over 24/7/365 for two years. That is exactly what you what they would do. Why do you think a rude, obnoxious, insulting,cruel, and mean bastard like Howard Stern stayed on the air so long. He brought home the bacon and others didn't. It is the same with any other media. Look at Bill O'Reilly, FOX didn't care if he had a dozen or more lawsuits for sexual harrassment as long a sponsors mostly stayed with him. Why did he get fired? When the money disappeared so did he.

Plausible deniability takes a big hit when you can't explain the tanks away.

The freshly minted officers of the Westpoint Class of 1862 on graduation day were addressed as gentlemen to choose between being commissioned as 2nd lieutenants in the Union Army or fighting for the Confederate States of America. Those who chose to fight for the south were told to take a step back turn left and march towards Richmond. Those who chose to fight for the north stepped forward and turned to the right. The lieutenants who would lead Confederate units were treated honorably and respectfully as following the dictates of their conscience. Tell me if they were traitors why weren't they immediately put into shackles and marched off to the brig by their superior officers?
