These dogs' vests have your emblem, say Canine Companions for Independence, and the 2 handlers I have spoken to directly(while in one case their dog was being held back from eating mine) said they got their dogs from you. You're implying there is some rogue trainer out there that is producing fake vests, fake training centers for matching teams, all under your organization's name.

I have been a handler for many years, and it's always been the same thing from both handlers and other trainers "Avoid CCI dogs when you see them". I mean many other handlers are actually fearful of your dogs. So either there is a lack of training or a lack of follow up. But in either case it seems obvious that your organization does not actually care. In my case there are 2 CCI dogs in my town who are an actual DANGER to other dogs. They are the some of the most dog aggressive labradors I have ever met. They wear your vest. And in one case specifically said their dog came from you. One day one of those dogs is going to get loose and really hurt another dog maybe even another service dog. Then what? You'll brush it under the rug? Pretend it wasn't one of yours? The lack of concern on your part is disturbing.

I have multiple CCI dogs around the area I live. All but one is extremely dog aggressive, and that one while friendly barks at other dogs and people and drags it's handler to greet others. Multiple times CCI dogs have tried to attack my service dog, even going so far as pulling their handlers down. When I have called to try and report this I have gotten scoffed at and told the dogs must not be CCI dogs. These dogs are literally a menace for me and other handlers in my city. One dog even yanked it's handler to the pavement at a local ihop to try and attack my service dog.

And I am not alone in this. Multiple handlers in the disabled community have horror stories of CCI dogs and trainers. In fact many people who ask for service dog advice in support groups are told to steer clear of CCI because of ill behaved dogs and verbally abusive trainers. Many handlers have reported being verbally attacked by your trainers for daring to bring up that a CCI dog may be acting less than stellar. Among the service dog community it is pretty well known to walk away if you see a CCI dog because not only is there a huge chance it is aggressive, but it seems the company does not care when issues are reported. So why is there a lack of care when it comes to these issues?

Yeah I only use reddit for guild wars 2 usually, as I don't really do reddit, but this AMA was posted in a large service dog group I'm a member of on facebook. I've been a handler for 10 years now, and am on my 3rd service dog. I'm not a troll, I have legitimate concerns. I have tried contacting the company about the dogs in question, and gotten no where. The dogs I'm talking about are going to hurt someone some day. Instead of CCI maybe considering a follow up, they just seem to want to ignore it. It is scary and frustrating being a disabled person and having to be afraid that another team's dog aggressive dog is going to break free and hurt your dog, and the company that trained the dogs in question wont even consider looking into them. My service dog is literally my independence. She is not any less important because she wasn't trained by CCI.
