I dated a woman who was anosmic, like you from birth or at least as long as she could remember.

She said main taste categories like sweet, salty, umami, etc were always evident and consistent with others' descriptions (eg: "this popcorn is too salty", or "these berries are wonderful... very sweet").

Hot/spicy she also "tasted", but after that, most herbs and spices she just didn't taste at all.

She always worried about food dates because she couldn't really taste spoiled food.

She finally convinced her parents when they had a gas leak she did not detect. They came home and started to yell at her (out of real concern) and then figured it out finally.
