APL/M3 signifies the classification using the FAB system (French-American-British) which is Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia. However the FAB system doesn't account for rare subtypes of AML, Acute Basophilic Leukaemia being one of those rare subtypes. So, if you did have that, I don't know why APL/M3 would be your classification, maybe it's the default checkbox for anything other than the 8 standard classifications.

As someone researching Pediatric Leukemia Cytogenetics, I'm glad to hear you're ok! Out of curiosity, do you know what sub classification of AML you had?
