Have you ever been on the Animal Cops shows on Animal Planet? My dad worked with Harris County SO in the Livestock Devision and made several appearances on Animal Cops Houston.

Also, do you mainly do cats and dogs, or is it horses and livestock too? In my father's case he only did "big" animals ie horses, cattle, pigs, chickens...he had to corral emus one time too. But all the domestic, household animals were taken in by the SPCA.

How many times are you gonna make us cry in this one John?

I read the NYT article about how your own struggles influenced the portrayal of mental health in this novel through Aza’s eyes. Was it difficult to take yourself back to that place and how did making your own struggles public change the way you felt about them?

In truth I have a million questions. The emotion you pack into your characters leaves me floored every time and as an aspiring writer myself you give me something to aim for. I hope you add a stop in Texas, or make it down here soon, lest I have to go to Chicago and seek out my very own Peter Van Houten.
