You understand why they absolutely would not do that right?

They have a potential lawsuit on their hands. People who aren't reporting this kind of stuff are most likely doing it strategically. Even if it wqs a genuine fuck up and not mefarious in nature, potentially having documented contact apologizing or just acknowledging things would be a huge liability.

To be extremely clear for the reddit collective: I'm noy justifying anything, I'm not syaing anything is okay, I'm not saying OP isn't owed such acknowledgment and an apology for how the school handled it. I'm just pointing out that it should be quite apparent that the offending party would not jeopardize themselves by acknowledging the incident in anything less than a very controlled scenario (press release with some school official spokesperson maybe responding to questions with very specifically brief information).

As stupid as it may seem, if there is a sign that says "don't climb into the man-eating lion exhibit", it's usually because some fuckwad did.

Because there isn't any real money to be made in video game QA. Simple as that. Think about how many college students are willing to play games for a "living". Why would they ever pay anybody well? No offense to OP, but the work isn't exactly rocket science.
