If I go onto Amazon (UK) now, 'Personal' is £8 as a hardback, or £7.49 as a Kindle download. I presume you will keep a similar small proportion from each sale.

a) All else being equal, would you like to see your ebooks sold cheaper?

b) You're an arguably example of an author with a big enough name and following to 'go it alone'; would you ever consider doing this and selling your own ebooks, and keep a far bigger proportion of the sale price?

c) Where do you stand on Amazon vs. Hachette?

What do you consider the minimum level of kit to get good, even impressive, results? (Is there a correlation? Is there a sweet spot, for beginners?)
