Have you tried any of the newer treatments? I have had severe AA since I was very little; I just shave.

When I was little I had cortisone shots and various creams but never really got anything from them.

I'm not OP, but I have AA as well. Transplants aren't very successful for AA because it is an auto-immune disease - your bodies white blood cells attack the hair follicle. Any transplanted hair would soon be wiped out.

Most of the treatments I have tried involve suppressing your bodies immune system in the affected areas (cortisone was/is a common one).

I lost just over 100 over the course of the last year and a half, I really want skin reduction because I just hate the flaps... it just seems to ruin all the work I put in to get to where I am now (205) - what was the cost? how was the recovery like?
