Pet peeve:

When Firefox loads a page which needs an addon I don't have (and/or have disabled), I get a bar on the top for notification. However, there are no options other than installing the addon or closing the bar (manually). Where's the option for "I never want to use this addon, stop telling me about it"? I'd also like "I know this crappy site runs things I don't want on every page, you don't need to remind me every time". Or maybe "just show notifications for this addon as an unobtrusive icon on the status bar I can ignore".

Heck, at least a "this is more information about what addon is missing" would be nice.

Like I said, pet peeve...

What are you replacing it with?

Feel free to take my notes as suggestions for operations which I hope are [easily] possible with whatever mechanism replaces this.

Have the police considered any sort of test for authenticity before dispatching for a call (and potentially upending someone's life at the least)? For example, verification of the caller, with non-spoofed caller ID, such that false calls can be met with serious repercussions (criminally and, preferably if possible, civilly)?

I mean, it wouldn't help much for underage callers, but I guess I'm wondering if there are any measures taken or considered before breaking down a door? Cause, as a relatively normal person, I'd guess having one's house stormed by military-type people, at tied up at gunpoint, would not be great for my trust of the police in general...

Hm... not sure I agree with that sentiment. I'm no fan of plugins in most cases, but it seems like there are quite a few businesses which use them for various reasons, and you might be closing off a large part of the market without the feature.

Good info, though. :)

If you wanted to implement something like that at a national level, you would need to address the issue of concealed carry permits at the state level (ie: the states for which conceal carry is effectively banned, due to Democrat leanings, and the lack of a "must issue" clause). In Los Angeles, for example, only the corrupt elite who are buddies with the state politicians can get concealed carry permits, irrespective of training.

Not that gun control is of primary interest to me personally, or that I would be a voter in your district... I just wanted to note that while your thoughts seemed reasonable, the feasibility might be more difficult, depending on the scope.
