I think your optimism regarding "never" is, unfortunately, misplaced. It's not that we will value the aesthetic objects produced by AIs more but that we won't be able to distinguish human produced objects from AI produced objects.

Very sorry to hear your surgery failed! Mine was successful (fellow CMT person here, though oddly not diagnosed until years after my surgery), went through that surgery and recovery was incredibly difficult. Can't imagine what it would be like to have that for little gain.
